FBI do not claim Bin Laden was involved in 9/11

January 12th, 2009 Posted in Global War on Terrorism (GWOT)

I was checking a few things online when I found that translating the Arabic name of Osama bin Laden ( أسامة بن محمد بن عوض بن لادن ) to English using the Romanization of Arabic method produces the following name: Usāmah bin Muḥammad bin `Awaḍ bin Lādin with numerous other variations. The reason that the non arabic name commonly used is Osama bin Laden is because it is a phonetic spelling (based on the sound of the name) and not an accurate translation.

Firstly I was surprised that the first three letters of his name were USA.

Secondly I was very surprised that the FBI are not looking for Usama Bin Laden for 9/11.
This reminded me of the USA vs Osama bin Laden trial in New York (Manchester Manual, US v. Usama bin Laden et al, S(7) 98 Cr. 1023). I thought they had found Osama bin Laden guilty, but if this is the case, why does the FBI not list 9/11?
You can download the court transcript here.

The court case was called “Manchester Manual, US v. Usama bin Laden et al” because the vast majority of the evidence was based on a so called training manual that it was claimed to be for Al Qaeda. However, no one seemed to know why the manual was in english, who had translated it or who had written it. At the time it was produced in the court and made public, a lot of experts voiced and pointed out that some of the translated manual read almost exactly the same as the CIA Assassination Manual. This is no surprise as the CIA were involved in the training of the Taliban.

This lead me to think of the people that have been arrested for owning a copy of the so called Manchester Manual that was made public during the trial.
Student researching al-Qaida tactics held for six days
Al-Qaeda download sparked arrest of Rizwaan Sabir
Man had al-Qaeda training manual
Man jailed over al-Qaeda manual

It goes without saying that powers that be do not want a terrorist training manual floating freely around the internet, arresting anyone who downloads it to prevent it from being openly distributed. However, this does not explain why one of the main locations that this manual can be found is on the US Department of Justice government website.

Moving back to the main point of this post. The FBI do not list Osama bin Laden as being involved with 9/11. You can see the FBI wanted page here.

On the page linked above you will see that it does not mention 9/11. It also only mentions “MURDER OF U.S. NATIONALS OUTSIDE THE UNITED STATES; CONSPIRACY TO MURDER U.S. NATIONALS OUTSIDE THE UNITED STATES; ATTACK ON A FEDERAL FACILITY RESULTING IN DEATH”.
Even when you look further down the page you can see that the FBI says “Usama Bin Laden is wanted in connection with the August 7, 1998, bombings of the United States Embassies in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, and Nairobi, Kenya. These attacks killed over 200 people. In addition, Bin Laden is a suspect in other terrorist attacks throughout the world.”

The only mention of airoplanes is when it mentions in the “Rewards” section “An additional $2 million is being offered through a program developed and funded by the Airline Pilots Association and the Air Transport Association.”

Why don’t they mention 9/11? Why don’t they mention the london bombings?
